Cessily visits New York whenever possible. She grew up here, plus it's a much better-looking city than Gotham. Plus, good memories. She is, right now, at the Double R Diner, just enjoying a cup of coffee and reading a fair flyer she found on the table when she arrived. Well, she gotta do something while waiting on Caitlin, who heard Cessily was in town so she asked to meet up.

Caitlin Fairchild makes her way into the diner, wearing a bright yellow sundress and enjoying the fair temperatures on this pre-Fall day. She smiles when she finds Cessily sitting in a booth, rather hard to miss. "Hey there, Cess." She waves and takes a seat, careful not to launch anyone or break anything. "Long time no see." She beams brightly. "What're you having?"

Cessily is sipping at her coffee when she hears her name being called. She recognizes the voice, and she smiles, "Oh, hey, Cait—" she stops, blinking, as instead of of the small, meek girl now stands a woman as tall as She-Hulk, and she can't help but blink again, "Whoa… Caitlin? You… changed!" she says, surprised, but she smiles, watching her old schoolmate sit across from her, "Oh, just a bit of coffee, to pass the time." she says, shrugging gently, "How are you doing? You look great!"

Caitlin Fairchild smiles and nods, blushing. "Thanks. It's part of my powers. They kicked in late, sorta like Hank." She smiles. "I ran into him in Metropolis and he mentioned that you were in New York. I figured I'd check in on the old gang." She takes a menu and looks at it when the waitress shows up. "I'll have… a double bacon burger with fries and a strawberry's shake." She smiles sweetly at the waitress who looks at her incredulously. The waitress walks away with the order. Cait turns to Cessily. "Why do they always look at me like that when I order something big?"

Cessily watches the waitress leaving, and she chuckles, "Well, she spent more time staring at you than she did staring at me." she says with amusement, "Well, I think because there aren't as many women as tall as you are, that can take in as much food as you can, and still look quite sexy." she nods, then she smiles and takes a sip of her coffee. "You're quite lucky, let me tell you that." she nods.

Caitlin Fairchild blinks and looks down at herself. "Oh… Like, how can I eat like a horse and still look like this…Well, I can still easily lift three tons." She smiles and tilts her head. "It's.. nice to see you. It's been a while. I've been… working for Charles for a bit after I went to Princeton." She swallows. "How've you been?"

Cessily chuckles, "Wallowing in Gotham." she says with amusement. "The College is good, but the town is… well, not so good. Moody. The city does live up to its name." she adds with an amused giggle, before taking a sip of her coffee again, "But.. studying, mostly. And working part-time at a diner as a waitress." she says, nodding gently. "It's hard having no income. Luckily, I don't need to eat, so that's a plus." she chuckles.
Cessily Kincaid pages: Caitlin would know that part of Cessily's power is that she doesn't need to breath, drink or eat to survive. But she does so just to 'feel normal'.

Caitlin Fairchild cringes at the description. "Can you transfer out? I hate to think of you sitting there wallowing in a town that wears bad eyeliner." She sighs. "I'm sorry I've been out of contact. I… had to. It was important. I can't tell you why, but all I can say is that it was important." She looks down at the counter sadly. "I didn't mean to leave everything up in the air.

Cessily smiles as she rests one elbow on the counter, and her chin on her hand, "I kind of miss our time together." she chuckles, "Especially now that you 'beefed up'." she winks, smiling, "But, don't worry about it. I kinda had a hard time keeping track of everyone as my whole life was just study and work. Y'know, my parents were nice enough to scratch me from the family once my mutation sprang up." she shrugs.

Caitlin Fairchild blushes and nods, wrinkling her nose. "I do too. It was an interesting time." She looks into Cessily's silver eyes. And the mention of her family, she frowns. "I'm so sorry, hon." She swallows and reaches into her purse, pulling out a card and handing it over. "Here.. I work at the school.. Teaching the next generation. If you want to talk or get together, just let me know. I don't like to idea of you being lonely out there in crappy Gotham." She swallows and nods, then smiles as her food arrives. "Have some of my fries, Cess."

Cessily smiles as she reaches for the card, "Careful, Caitlin." she giggles, "You might rekindle old flames…" she teases as she winks to you, before taking a look at the card, still smiling, "So you work at the school? Nice, I'll definitely visit the school more, then." she nods. At the offered fries, she smiles, "Are you sure? I don't need to eat to live, you know?" she asks, but, nonetheless, she reaches for one.

Caitlin Fairchild blushes. "I'm… sorry, Cess. I'm seeing someone. I'm not trying to lead you on, honest." She nods at the mention of school. "Please do. The kids could do with seeing you. It will prove there's life after Xavier's." She smiles. "And.. I'd like to see you more as well." She nods emphatically. "Just because you don't need them doesn't mean you shouldn't have them." She smiles and splits her burger in two, offering it to the girl. "And I apologize for not saying it before but you look good too."

Cessily smiles, "Don't worry, Caitlin, I was just teasing you." she says, before adding, "Well, sorta. Half-teasing, half-truth. Anyways, who's the lucky girl?" she asks, then arches one eyebrow as she gets a knowing smile, "VERY lucky." she giggles then winks. At the offered half of the burger, Cessily just smiles but shakes her head, "Don't worry about me, hon. I'm good with the coffee. And the fries I'm stealing." she giggles.

Caitlin Fairchild smirks. "I'm.. sorry." She repeats. "Oh.. Karen. She goes to MetU." A half-truth. She blushes. "She's really great. I miss her… I don't get to see her as much now that I'm in Westchester." She nods and looks. "What about you? Anyone special?" She nods and smiles about the burger and shrugs. "Suit yourself, then." She smiles.

Cessily hmmms softly, "There… kind of is." she tilts her head softly as she looks up, looking a bit pensive, "I mean, we did hit it off, and it was nice, but… there are too many differences between us so I'm not sure if it'll work out." she says softly, without saying who it is, "And I'm sorry, but I cannot say who it is, not just yet." she says softly, smiling apologetically. "To be honest, I'm torn between having it work out, and it doesn't. Because, if it doesn't work out, then I'll have nothing really keeping me in Gotham and I can freely transfer. If it does work, well… a reason to stay." she shrugs gently, smiling.

Caitlin Fairchild sighs and looks at the girl, not being able to help but feel a little jealous. "Well.. Differences can always be compromised. If you care enough for each other to make it work, then you will." She reaches over and takes the girl's hand gently. "I can't be the only one who's ever been able to break though that shell." She smiles as she takes a couple fries with her free hand.

Cessily smiles and squeezes her friend's hand gently, "It's not that simple. Believe me." she says softly, "Promise not to tell anyone? There is the issue of the media. PR and all that hell." she says, nodding gently. She might be willing to take the fire, but I'm not sure I'd WANT to put her through that fire, y'know?"

Caitlin Fairchild waves it off. "You don't have to tell me. I'm just saying that it doesn't matter what the difference is. Karen and I have some differences, but we also have a lot of similarities, like how we feel for each other." She smiles and reluctantly lets go, taking a bite of her burger. "You deserve someone who makes you happy. And someone out there deserves someone as special as you."

Cessily nods gently, pulling her back gently once its released, "I know. But you know me. I'd have a hard time accepting the fact I put a friend of mine through trouble just to stay together." she says, smiling a bit while reaching a hand to steal another fry. "She might be ok with it, maybe not… but I'm not sure I am."

Caitlin Fairchild nods and thinks. "Here's an idea. Why don't you ask her? If you have these doubts, it's best for you to talk to her about it now before they get so big that you can't get around them and then you split in anger." She eats more of her burger and drinks her shake. "You need to talk. Seriously."

Cessily chuckles then sips at her coffee, "If I had stayed in New York instead of having gone to Gotham, we wouldn't have to have split apart." she chuckles, "Oh well, the past's the past. At least we're still good friends." she nods, smiling. "Even if you're a bigger friend than you used to be." she says, smiling as she raises her hand, gesturing as how Caitlin has grown in size since school as she smiles mischievously.

Caitlin Fairchild blinks and looks down, saddened. "We would've had to… This thing… for Charles… There would've been no communication. No idea where I'd gone or been. It's better that we ended that way then for you thinking I disappeared somewhere." She swallows. "I'm… sorry about how we ended. I didn't mean for it to happen that way." She blinks. "Hey! Don't tease. I'm sure you wouldn't mind if you saw exactly just *how* I've grown." She smiles.

Cessily grins widely, "I wouldn't at all." she says, "But it's ok. I have my imagination. And I'll be free later tonight to imagine all I want…" she nods, then she giggles and winks to you, before reaching to pat your shoulder. Yes, she can reach all the way over the table, since her body allows malleability. "And don't worry about it. I don't regret our time together at all." she nods softly.

Caitlin Fairchild blinks and…. blushes. "Oh!" She shakes her head, finishing her burger before she almost chokes on it. "Bad girl!" She says before smiling and then looks to the pat, a raised brow in warning. "Be good." She says, self-consciously sitting with her legs closed a bit tighter. She then looks up at something Cessily says, eyes slightly watered. "No.. Oh no. Please don't think I *regret* it. Never." She sighs. We learned a lot…. about each other…" She smiles, wistfully.

Cessily smiles, and then she stands up to walk around the table and sit next to Caitlin, and gives the taller girl a warm hug, "We did, didn't we?" she says softly, resting her head against Caitlin's shoulder for a moment, "And don't worry about us. If we are to be together again, we'll know." she nods gently to that before breaking the hug.

Caitlin Fairchild blinks and hugs back, kissing the girl on the cheek. She stiffens when Cessily mentions possibilities. "Well… We can only see." Caitlin says, with all honesty. "We never really know what the future holds for us." She smiles. She leaves the last few fries for Cessily and finishes her shake. "It was really nice to see you, again."

Cessily does notice her friend tenses at her words, "Don't worry." she says, reaching for one of Caitlin's fries again, "I don't wish ill on your current relationship." she says, "On the contrary, I hope the two of you be happy together." she nods softly. "I do wish the best for the two of you. Just invite me to the wedding, ok?" she winks, giggling.

Caitlin Fairchild nods softly, sadly. "We… We're just starting.." She says. The waitress arrives with the check and Cait places cash on the table to cover the entire thing, including the tip. She stands slowly. "I.. I should get back to the school. We have a curfew. Things have been pretty nasty, so… please… Take care of yourself." Her face smiles, but her eyes show differently. "Please call me, when you're all alone in that sad little town." She nods. "I'll be there for you."

Cessily watches as Caitlin stands, and Cessily notices her eyes, "I will, Caitlin." she pauses for a moment, before speaking again, "And… Caitlin? That works for you too." she smiles, "I can see you have some things you need to get out of your chest, but you have trouble doing so, so… if you ever need an ear, just call me, ok?"

Caitlin Fairchild smiles and pulls Cessily up into a big hug, displaying exactly how she's grown, in both strength and body. "I'm ok.. I just missed you, so much. I'm glad you're ok."

Cessily returns the hug, smiling, and then she whispers softly, just for Caitlin to hear, "There is something inside you that you need ot let out, from what I can tell, but it's probably something that should be kept a secret. I'm guessing it has to do with your disappearance." she explains, while keeping the hug going, "I won't force you to tell me, but if you ever feel like it, call me, and I'll come." she whispers, and only then the breaks the hug.

Caitlin Fairchild nods slowly and smiles. "I'll call. Take care." She says before waving and taking her leave.
