People need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy and I can’t do that as Bruce Wayne. As a man I’m flesh and blood, I can be ignored, I can be destroyed, but as a symbol, as a symbol I can be incorruptible. I can be everlasting.

The Beginning

Born the only son to Thomas and Martha Wayne, Bruce was part of wealth and fame in Gotham City. His father was President of Wayne enterprises and one of the top surgeons in his field. Martha was respected while being part of many different projects around the city.

At the age of eight his life changed. Coming out of a movie theater with his parents a thug approached them. The intent was to steal his mother's pearl necklace and as his father moved in to protect her he was shot. Then the thug turned the gun on Martha killing her while shouting, "This'll shut you up!"

Somehow the boy escaped with his life but would never be the same. Bruce was raised by Alfred Pennyworth the family's butler and he inherited the family company and fortune. As a boy he made a vow that he would avenge the death of his parents.

He was an angry young man and Dr Leslie Thompkins helped him mourn the death of his parents. Finding a purpose for his life he began to train in martial arts and other fields to prepare mentally, emotionally, and academically.

Education and Purpose

Academically he studied at Cambridge in England, the Sorbonne in France, and other famous European universities. But training himself this way wasn't all he wanted. He studied different styles of martial arts from a number of instructors. He learned man-hunting by Henri Ducard, a Frenchman. He learned how to be stealthy by a Japanese ninja named Kingi, an African bushman trained him in the art of the hunt, and Nepalese monks taught him healing. Bruce was trained in hand-to-hand combat by Ted Grant, a World Champion Boxer.

Returning to Gotham he had the purpose of wanting to fight crime. It felt something was missing though to complete his transformation. Bruce wanted to strike fear into the heart of criminals and his enemies. As a child he had a fear of bats and was reminded of this while in his father's study as a bat crashed through a window. This struck a chord with him and gave an idea. The bat would represent his new persona and he made a suit and using the technology of the day to help him. So began his purpose… By day he is Bruce Wayne, billionaire playboy and businessman. At night he is Batman, crime fighting vigilante.

Gotham's Batman and The Justice League

Batman's presence in Gotham City generated a new generation of criminals, those with more dynamic styles of crime. These included Catwoman, Doctor Strange, Scarecrow, Riddler, Poison Ivy, Mister Freeze, Penguin, and Joker just to name a few. All this led to the creation of the Bat-Signal, a giant spotlight displaying his logo in the sky whenever there is danger and he is needed.

He took on Dick Grayson as his ward and then formed him into his sidekick Robin. Along with others such as Tony Stark, Marvel Girl, Black Widow, and others the Justice League was formed. Together they fight together and have each other's backs.

Alfred Pennyworth
A loyal butler and friend to the Wayne family. He raised Bruce after his parents were murdered. He knows that he is Batman and helps him. Alfred is good with medicines, cooking, and can deflect those that question his identity.

Batcave
Located beneath Wayne Manor, is Batman's secret headquarters known as the Batcave. It is a structure of subterranean caves that serves as the brains of his operations. It holds all his technology, weapons, transportation, criminal analysis unit, both local and global surveillance, and stores much of his memorabilia.

Billionaire
Bruce is listed as 8th among 15 of the richest in many magazines. His net worth is about $6.5 Billion which he inherited and through business. This supports his comfortable life style and ability to invest with his crime fighting including technology.

Costume
This costume is the image of a bat to strike fear into the heart of criminals and make them think twice about their actions. The costume is made of Kevlar and a small bit of titanium. The suit is bullet proof, fire proof, and resistant to a few attacks.

Justice League
A group of heroes he has helped found. They are dedicated together in fighting supercrime, international threats, and protecting Earth from extraterrestrial and extra dimensional invasions.

Leslie Thompkins
She stepped in as a GodMother to him when his parents were killed. Leslie helped him to mourn their deaths and is one of his confidants. She doesn't agree with his actions as a crimefighter but supports him as needed.

Lucius Fox
Bruce's business manager that runs the day to day operations for Wayne Enterprises. He has been loyal to the family for years and remains so even though he has turned down many job offers.

Transportation
He has different vehicles he can use when the situation calls for it. There is the Batmobile; heavier than a tank, is coated with titanium with reactive armor, onboard computer, and jet engine. The Batcycle used when the Batmobile isn't for certain missions. The Batplane is a modified Wayne Aviation SlipStream that is equipped with a fully-functioning crime lab, and magnesium flares encased inside of the cone. The Batboat is submergible with Oxygen tanks provide up to six hours of breathable air and back up tanks to allow for twelve hours of air.

Utility Belt
If he is in need of anything as Batman it can be found on his belt. Batarang, explosives, lock picks, and other things he finds useful. There is even a button he can press to call his Batmobile or Batcycle.

Wayne Enterprises
Lucius Fox runs the day to day operations for his company. It appears he is disinterested but he is behind much of the decision making and has access to everything there.

Weapons
Batman has many gadgets that he can use in crime fighting. One being the batarang he can throw that is shaped like a bat. He has different variations of the batarang on his utility belt. He uses different kind of explosives with various properties and sometimes hand-to-hand combat weapons. But he uses himself as a weapon with martial arts in close combat.

Acrobatics
Training as a ninja has honed his skills at acrobats. He could be considered a freerunner being able to use his environment as needed and even run leaping off the side of buildings without much thought.

Business Management
Some think him to be dim-witted but Bruce is actually very smart when it comes to business. He has a good understanding of finances and management when it comes to his Enterprise and has learned from Lucius Fox whom runs the daily operations for him.

Driving
He is skilled in driving cars, motorcycles, boats, and piloting planes.

Escapology
Studying other escape artists such as Houdini, he trained on how to escape straitjackets, locks, knots, and anything else.

Genius Level Intellect
He has studied Physics, Biology, math, Technology, Biology, History, and Geography. He obtained degrees in Criminal Science, Forensic Sciences, Computer Sciences, Chemistry and Engineering by the time he was 21. He has studies advanced topics of each that has made him a very keen mind and be able to outwit others rather than always having to simply fight.

Interrogation
Batman has many ways to get the answers he needs from others. From using law tactics, fear, and even torture as needed. He could hang a person by their feet over the side of a building or beat them if needed. Though he believes fear is his top tactic.

Intimidation
He has the ability instill fear into his enemies and even into some of his friends. For those afraid of ones like Superman he is able to even make those fear him.

Investigation
Batman is capable of investigating using forensics and come up with conclusions even on the smallest amount of gathered data.

Leadership
He is known for being a leader. He is in charge of Wayne Enterprises, helped find the Justice League, and has led others.

Marksmanship
Batman is well trained with being able to aim guns, throwing weapons, and archery with accuracy. Not as skilled as Green Arrow in this but close enough.

Martial Arts
He is known for mastering up to 17 different styles of martial arts. He mainly uses a mix of Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Muay Thai, Dragon Style Kung Fu, Boxing, Jujitsu, Ninjitsu and Capoeira.

Multilingualism
Batman is capable of speaking many languages other than English which include Spanish, French, Latin, German, Japanese, Russian, Cantonese, Mandarin, Greek, Portuguese, Arabic, Sanskrit, Hindi, and Thai.

Stealth
He can covertly move through the shadows, high security, and sneak without being discovered. This is due to his Ninjutsu training when he was younger.

Tracking
He was trained in tracking by an African Bushman and is able to track his enemies or those he needs to find.
